YEREVAN. – Representatives from the United States Agency for International Development Enterprise Development & Market Competitiveness Project (USAID EDMC), the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), Armenia’s State Committee of Real Estate Cadastre, and the X-TECH Creative Studio held a joint press conference Monday to present the results that were achieved by Armenia’s delegation that participated in GITI 2012, the Georgian IT Innovation Conference, which was recently held in Tbilisi.

The representatives informed that Armenia’s delegation received seven awards and gave eleven presentations at the event, and presented its high-tech solutions at the GITI exhibition.   

Also, agreements were reached on the Georgian partners’ attendance to the informal meeting to be held this year, and Armenia’s “Instigate” engineering company launched its new branch in Tbilisi.   

To note, the purpose of the GITI conference was to describe the significance of Information Technology in terms of creating an engine of growth for socioeconomic development of the region.

The motto of the GITI 2012 was “IT for the future.” Its key objective was to establish and promote effective partnerships among the public and the private sectors, associations, and other IT&T industry-related organizations in Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltic States, Caucasus, and in the Central Asian region to promote competitiveness, innovation, and security.
