YEREVAN. – In his video blog, monument specialist Samvel Karapetyan, who is the chairman of the foundation that studies Armenian architecture, spoke about an event that occurred seven or eight years ago, when Armenia, as a goodwill gesture, returned to Germany a part of the German literature which the ex-USSR had looted in the years of the Second World War.

As per Karapetyan, it is noteworthy, however, that all through this time no one thought about the Armenian literature which Turkey’s ally Germany had looted at the turn of the 20th century.

“The Turks were a blunt instrument, whereas the German officers were looting the [Armenian] monastery libraries and the manuscript libraries. That is why today there are Armenian manuscripts even in the library of the most remote borough of Germany. Let’s return the looted items to one another!”, the monument specialist said.
