YEREVAN.- Aftershocks of Iranian earthquake will be felt in Armenia’s south during 2013, head of the National Seismic Protection Service Hrachya Petrosyan said.

During the next year, tremors measuring 5 points on the Richter scale may be felt in Armenia’s Syunik Region bordering with Iran.

“We have already explained that tremors are connected with the earthquake in Akhar [Iran],” he told reporters on Thursday.

Petrosyan noted that the aftershocks of the earthquake, which hit Turkey’s Van in October 2011, continue.

“Massive quakes are leaving hundreds of minor tremors,” he explained.
