YEREVAN.- Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan will light up the Christmas tree in Republic Square on December 20 evening.

Armenia’s main Christmas tree will be fully decorated by December 20, representative of the municipality Araz Baghdasaryan told reporters on Tuesday.

The dress up of the main symbol of the New Year required over 6,000 fir branches, 50,000 lights and 70 stars. Decoration of Armenia’s capital will be over by December 20.

Lighting of the Armenia’s main Christmas tree will open the series of festive events in the Republic and Liberty squares.
