YEREVAN. – Within the framework of his working visit to the United States, Armenian Premier Tigran Sargsyan visited and toured the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

At MIT, Sargsyan also met with Istanbul Armenian economist Daron Acemoglu, who is considered one of the world’s top ten economists, Government press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. They discussed the challenges of global economy, specifically Armenia’s economy. Acemoglu noted that, as a result of this meeting, he made new discoveries for himself about Armenia and he will visit the Motherland at the first opportunity. 

Subsequently, Tigran Sargsyan got together at MIT with the Armenian students that are studying at the universities of the US State of Massachusetts.  

Next, Armenia’s Premier met with representatives from the Armenian community in Boston. During the get-together, and on behalf of Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan, Premier Tigran Sargsyan awarded Peter Kotunjian the Mkhitar Gosh Medal, for his contribution to the strengthening of Armenian-American friendly ties, and Nubar Afeyan was encouraged with the PM’s commemorative medal, for his patriotic deeds.
