YEREVAN.- In Armenia’s capital Yerevan, preparations for the New Year are in full swing (photo). By the evening of December 20 the entire capital will have its final festive look. This year, in addition to the City Hall, administrative districts of Yerevan are also preparing separately for the holidays.

The main 32-meter high Christmas tree consisting of 6,000 fir branches will be decorated with 50,000 LED lights, 700 falling down lights and 70 stars.

Streets of Yerevan have been decorated with over 100 LED lights, numerous LED trees are also going to be added. Animals and 3D projections will be installed, one in the Freedom Square, and the second place is being kept secret.

In addition to Christmas events in the Republic Square, the Liberty Square (Theatre Square) entertainment for children will be organized from December 22 to January 13. In Liberty Square and Aznavour Square LED fountains will be installed.
