YEREVAN. – Armenian-Turkish relations experience the worst phase as compared to the period ahead to the Football Diplomacy, head of Armenian Cause Office Giro Manoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to him, this is quite a weighty reason for Armenia to stop the so-called process of normalizing relations with Turkey. It is better to wait for the new authorities to come into office in Turkey, which will be ready to set up diplomatic relations with Yerevan without any pre-conditions.

As for the relation between the peoples of both states, Manoyan said that these contacts may become real only under the mediation of a third country, while in reality there is no progress.

He also believes that Armenia should recall its signature under Armenian-Turkish protocols and replace it with a document containing three points: the two countries decide to set up diplomatic relations, the two countries decide to open the roads uniting common borders, and the two countries decide to settle all issues on peace and in accordance with international law and diplomatic norms.
