On December 19, between the standing committee of Armenia’s National Assembly on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs and the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces a Memorandum of Understanding was signed.

Its purpose is to ensure effective democratic control of the security of Armenia. The memorandum was signed by the head of the Armenian parliamentary commission Koryun Nahapetyan and Deputy Chief of Geneva Centre Philipp Fluri.

The parties intend to cooperate in the areas of jurisdiction of the Commission to improve the effectiveness of the legislative process, design and implementation process, civilian control of Armenian Armed Forces, as well as organization of visits to various law enforcement agencies for expert evaluation.
