Homepage of the search-engine giant Google is devoted Thursday to the 200th anniversary of the publication of the fairy tales written by the Brothers Grimm.   

The traditional Google logo is replaced by a sequential series of pictures depicting the story of the “Little Red Riding Hood,” which is one of the best-known tales of the brothers. And the last picture depicts the Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother, who has knitted “Google,” Prime reports.     

Brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were renowned German linguists and linguistic collectors. And their collection Kinder- und Hausmärchen (Children’s and Household Tales) brought them global fame. The first edition of this collection was published in 1812 in Berlin, with 900 print-run, and it comprised 86 tales. Its seventh—and final—edition was published in 1857, and it included 210 tales and legends.
