YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan held a New Year and Christmas reception, on Tuesday at the Presidential Palace, for members of the country’s mass media. The president congratulated those present, on the occasion of the coming holidays, and wished them health and success.

“In the passing year, we together continued our efforts to strengthen free speech and democracy in the country. I extend my thanks to you for the quality of your work. I do not recall, in the history of independent Armenia, when the participants’ access to the media was as much as it was during the last parliamentary elections. What we have achieved together is a serious accomplishment; we will continue to move forward. We are going and we will go on the sole road that is acceptable for Armenia. 

Of course, there are still many problems, but there exist the two key factors to reach our objectives: the public demand, and the political will of the authorities. Thus, we are allies, and together we carry out a mission, on whose results the present and the foreseeable future of our country depend,” President Serzh Sargsyan specifically said during his remarks at the reception.
