ISTANBUL. – Ilker Sahin, a teacher who was working at an Istanbul Armenian school, was found murdered at his home.  

Sahin’s murder became apparent when his friends did not see him and they were unable to contact him over the phone, Milliyet daily of Turkey reports. Subsequently, his friends went to his home, but no one answered the doorbell. So, they opened the door with a crowbar and found Sahin’s dead body, with a slit throat and drenched in blood.     

Police officers and prosecutor’s office representatives immediately arrived to the scene of the crime.

It was found out that the teacher’s last SMS text message was a Christmas greetings to his friends.

It is yet unknown whether Ilker Sahin was Armenian or Turkish, but it is noted that he was working as a teacher at Istanbul’s Aramyan Uncuyan Armenian school for eight years.
