YEREVAN. – A total of 27,609 citizens of Armenia visited Georgia from December 25 to 31, 2012, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.

“With this indicator, the residents of Armenia are second from the foreign country citizens that most visited Georgia. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia publicized such data.

The first are the citizens of Turkey, [with] 29,485; the third are the citizens of Azerbaijan, [with] 21,874. But if we compare the number of tourists that visited Georgia with the population of their countries, it will turn out that the residents of Armenia are the absolute leaders by the number of foreigners who visited Georgia.

The neighboring country attracts Armenia’s citizens especially by the much lower prices of its tourism attractions and rendered services. This is why many Armenia residents prefer to spend their recreation in Georgia; this is especially noticeable in the summer season,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
