Scientists offer treatment of obstruction of the small intestine with sweet water, in particular with Coca-Cola.

Researchers from the Medical College of the University of Athens, in an experiment assigned 46 patients with food bezoar (a disease during which a foreign body is formed in the stomach or intestinal from ingested dietary fiber or fruit stones) to drink Coca-Cola. The “stone” completely dissolved for half of the patients, and in 19 cases it became soft and it was safely removed.

Doctors reported that the effect of coke is linked to the fact that the drink contains phosphoric and carbonic acid. They are able to break down compacted fibers in the stomach, MigNews informs.
