YEREVAN.- There is a positive attitude toward restoration of Abkhazian railway, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said during the Monday meeting with reporters.

“It is difficult for me to say anything in terms of timing. During the meeting, when we spoke with President Putin, he said that on the same day he plans to meet with the president of Abkhazia, and will definitely discuss this issue. Then we got the response that there is a positive attitude, and efforts should be made to address this critical problem,” Sargsyan said, commenting on his meeting with Russian leader.

He stressed there are certain problems with the Georgian and Abkhazian sides, as well as problems with Russia.

“I expect positive movement that will bring huge benefits to our economy,” he emphasized. President said Armenian businessmen have to spend $190 to deliver a ton of freight by railway from Moscow, which is enormously high price.
