Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze said giving a status of autonomy to Javakhk is out of the question.
“Armenians living in Georgia are citizens of the country and have equal rights with Georgians. Therefore, giving them any other status is out of the question,” she said during her visit to Baku.
Earlier Georgian Internal Minister Irakly Garibashvili assured Javakhk is not threatening national interests of Georgia.
Javakheti or Javakhk (in Armenian) is a region in south of Georgia mainly populated by Armenians.
