YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Justice informed that, at present, there are nineteen citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the prisons of Armenia, Iravunk daily reports. 

“Over the course of the past year, more than twenty Iranian citizens, who were serving sentences in Armenia, were handed to the Iranian side. Seven more prisoners were recently transferred to Iran.  

The deputy minister noted that the great majority of the Iranians were convicted for drugs. It was also noted that there are no citizens of Armenia that are serving sentences in Iran,” Iravunk writes.
