U.S. President Barack Obama visited on Friday the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.

He was accompanied by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Secretary of State John Kerry and other officials.

In the church, he was greeted by Greek Orthodox Patriarch Theophilos III, Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Franciscan Custodian of the Holy Land, and Armenian Orthodox Archbishop Sevan Gharibian, NBC News reported.

After his visit to Bethlehem, Obama will head to Jordan where he will meet with King Abdullah II.

The Church of the Nativity is administered jointly by Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Armenian church.
