YEREVAN.-  Armenian health ministry representative said no flu epidemic was registered in the country over the last week.

Talking to reporters on Wednesday, head of the epidemiology department Lilit Avetisyan said the number of cases of influenza and acute respiratory infections is reducing gradually.

“At the moment we are dealing with mild pneumonia and seasonal influenza,” the doctor said.

Widely-spread type of flu is the strain of so-called “swine flu”, she said, adding that the strain of B1 has been recently spread in the country.

“Different types of flu are always changing,” Avetisyan said. This is the reason that it is very difficult to prevent a specific type of flu.
