YEREVAN.- The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has not changed its mind on setting up an ad hoc committee to examine the March 1 events, head of parliament’s standing committee on legal affairs said.

RPA has presented proposals to the Armenian National Congress (ANC), Davit Harutyunnyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“If the offers are accepted, I am confident the ad hoc committee will be set up,” he said.

On March 15 Armenian parliament’s committee on legal affairs unanimously adopted draft decision on creating an ad hoc committee to study the March 1 events during which 10 people were killed. There was an arrangement to include the issue into the agenda of the committee after presidential elections.

Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan offered the parties to discuss offers with ANC and come to an agreement by the time of next four-day parliamentary session.
