A magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck south-east Iran near the border with Pakistan, the US Geological Survey reported.

The epicenter was near the border with Pakistan. Tremors were felt in Pakistan, India and across the Gulf, BBC reported.

Another quake hit south-west Iran on April 9 when 37 people were killed and nearly 850 were injured.
