The Armenian secular and religious organizations that function in Georgia petitioned to the Parliament of Georgia, with a request to formally recognize the Armenian Genocide of 1915-1923.

“In the name of justice and commitment to democratic values, we call upon [you] to join the civilized society initiatives in the world and to set up a discussion, in the Parliament of Georgia, with respect to the matter of recognizing the Armenian Genocide that was committed in the Ottoman Empire,” the respective petition states in particular.

To note, however, over the course of the past years, the Georgian-Armenian organizations have repeatedly petitioned to the Government and the Parliament of Georgia, and with a demand to recognize the Armenian Genocide, but their demand remains unanswered to this day.
