YEREVAN. – One week before the 98th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, France signed a large-scale business contract with Turkish Airlines.

Turkish Airlines signed a contract, on Wednesday in Istanbul, with the Airbus company to acquire  82 A320s  and 35 additional aircrafts, owing to which the European airplane manufacturing company will increase its investments in Turkey, Nouvelles d’Arménie monthly of France reports.

The French-Armenian community, however, still does not dare to hope that this huge business deal will not have an impact on French President François Hollande’s pledge to introduce a bill that criminalizes the denial of the Armenian Genocide.

The French industrial circles, on the other hand, believe that if such bill is passed, France will lose several-billion-euros-worth contracts in Turkey.
