ETCHMIADZIN. – Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on Thursday received the members of a delegation from the European Union (EU)-Armenia Friendship Group in the European Parliament.  

Karekin II highly appreciated the efforts by the group members to defend the rights of the Armenian people and toward Armenia’s EU accession process, the Information System of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin informs. 

The Catholicos also thanked all those that greatly contribute to the recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, and added that the Genocide’s global recognition will contribute to the prevention of similar occurrences. 

In addition, Karekin II wished success to the mission of the EU-Armenia Friendship Group in the European Parliament, and noted that this mission takes on a universal quality in terms of building a righteous and a peaceful world.
