YEREVAN. – Armenia’s acting Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan on Friday received a delegation, from the Hazards Reduction Joint Program of the United States Department of Defense, led by Program Manager Elizabeth George. 

The US delegation is visiting Armenia within the framework of a biological program being conducted in Armenia, the Agriculture Ministry press service informs.    

Karapetyan extended his thanks for the US Government assistance to the activities being conducted toward preventing and eliminating human and animal diseases in Armenia.  

The interlocutors stressed the program components whereby a modern laboratory research center—with regional branches—is planned to be set up, and training courses for local specialists will be conducted.  

In her turn, Elizabeth George presented the results of their talks that were held during their visit to Armenia, and noted that there is visible progress in the implementation of this program.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to assist in the execution of this important project.
