YEREVAN. – Acting Sport and Youth Affairs Minister Hrachya Rostomyan, who is a member of the non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party, will not be reappointed to this office.

In his stead, Olympic weightlifting champion, legendary athlete, and Presidential Adviser Yuri Vardanyan will be appointed as the new minister. The Armenian News-NEWS.am sources, which are close to the Office of the President, confirmed this information.    

To note, information was disseminated in the media, with respect to Vardanyan being appointed to a new position. At first, rumors about the office of Sport and Youth Affairs Minister and, subsequently, the position of Governor of Shirak Region were spread.
