STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, President Bako Sahakyan on Wednesday visited the southern wing of Kashatagh Region and inspected on site the implementation of several socioeconomic projects.

In Kovsakan city, Sahakyan met with the local residents and touched upon a number of issues they raised, and noted that the problems faced by the sub-region and their solution would be the focus of the authorities, Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President informs.

The NKR President subsequently visited the Tondirget Gold Mine and got familiar with the activities being conducted there. Sahakyan stressed the significance of the mining industry plant for Kashatagh Region and for Artsakh, in general, adding that it will simultaneously resolve a number of socioeconomic and demographic matters.

Thereupon the President visited the Araks branch of Hadrut Agroeconomy CJSC and observed the activities of this structure. Bako Sahakyan noted that the presence of such infrastructure in the Araks Valley will promote the development of the area that possesses a great agricultural potential which, in its turn, will have a substantial impact on boosting the entire agricultural and industrial sector of the country.

Bako Sahakyan also visited a military unit that is located in southern Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and inspected the construction of new barracks.
