ETCHMIADZIN. – The Prince of Wales Charles on Thursday visited Armenia’s religious center Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

His Royal Highness was received by Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. He presented historical mission of the Armenian Church in the life of the Armenian people and underscored role of church for preservation of national identity and restoration of statehood.

Karekin II spoke about inter-state relations, presenting cooperation between Armenian Church and the Church of England.

Catholicos and Prince Charles toured the Mother See, visiting the museum where Royal guest got familiarized with the cultural heritage preserved by the church. The Prince of Wales visited Vache and Tamar Manoukian Matenadaran where a reception was organized in honor of the Royal guest.

Prince Charles is on a private visit to Armenia, from May 28 to 30, as guest of the Yerevan My Love Charitable Foundation.
