YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE), Edward Nalbandian, on Saturday met with Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) President Jean-Claude Mignon, who is in Armenia.   

They discussed the priorities of Armenia’s newly-assumed Chairmanship of the CoE Committee of Ministers and, in this context, the cooperation between the Committee of Ministers and PACE, Armenian MFA press service informs. 

Reflecting on the PACE Bureau and Standing Committee sessions, which were held on Thursday and Friday in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, Mignon noted that these events were organized at a high level and they stood out by their substantive discussions and productiveness.      

The interlocutors exchanged views on human rights, the rule of law, freedom of speech, and democracy in the CoE member states.   

Edward Nalbandian and Jean-Claude Mignon also reflected on the South Caucasus issues and the efforts to resolve them.
