YEREVAN. – The newly appointed Russia’s Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volynkin intends to familiarize himself with Armenia, he said during the Monday press conference.

The event was dedicated to the second scientific and tourist expedition that will kick off in Armenia on June 8.
The Ambassador noted he would not be able to participate in the expedition, but plans to tour the country in the future.

“Armenia is a country with rich culture. I plan to visit every corner of the country,” Ambassador told reporters.

Ivan Volynkina noted that various kinds of tourism – mountain, rural, eco-tourism, recreation on the lake – can be developed in Armenia. In this context, the Ambassador told about “Russia through a train window” project when journalists were traveling by train and photographing all sites.

According to the Ambassador, a similar project can be implemented in Armenia.

“I think it would be a good contribution to the development of tourism in Armenia,” he added.
