The twelve-year plastic surgeon said too many people apply to them with a request to have their gender changed. But since there is no [respective] law, they [i.e., the plastic surgeons] refuse to perform [such surgery].
Incidentally, the doctors cannot operate also so that no problems arise in the future with respect to the passport, [and] name change.
In actual fact, a law will not only allow for a sex change, but will regulate the name change of the given person,” Aravot writes.
