YEREVAN. – Three candidates will be engaged in main struggle in Iran’s presidential vote, Armenian MP of the Iranian parliament Karen Khanlarian told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to him, the general atmosphere in the presidential elections in Iran is calm, and the voter turnout is high.

“The second round is expected, but now it is too early to speak about it. People are usually more active in the last hours of the elections,” he said, emphasizing that it is a little difficult to forecast the outcome of elections.

Karen Khanlarian believes that the main candidates are the current mayor of Tehran Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Hassan Rouhani and top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili.

Iran is holding presidential elections on June 14. Iranians are choosing from six candidates.
