YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan issued a message of congratulations to Hassan Rouhani for being elected Iranian President.

“I believe the friendship and the political discourse of the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue their upward path of development, recording ever-new accomplishments in the interest of the welfare of the peoples of the two countries.   

“I fondly remember our talks in [Armenian capital city] Yerevan and in [the Iranian capital,] Tehran. I am convinced that, with joint efforts, we will raise the Armenian-Iranian interstate relations to a qualitatively new level,” the Armenian President’s congratulatory message states, in particular.
