YEREVAN. – The disclosure of secret documents by an employee of the largest national security service of the United States showed that virtually all social networks are tapped.

Information security expert Samvel Martirosyan stated the aforesaid during a press conference on Wednesday. In his words, however, Twitter is the sole large network that was not in this list.

“It was found out that there is a system that enables secret agency staff to penetrate into the internal activity space of the users,” the expert noted.

He added that the countries are painted from green to red in the respective documents.

“Green is less activity, red is more. Armenia was yellow; that is, the interest toward us was the same color as the US. Georgia and Azerbaijan, for example, are green,” Martirosyan informed.

And as for the special services of Armenia, the expert specifically said:

“I doubt that our NSS [i.e., the National Security Service] can monitor Facebook because Facebook is a closed system.”

In terms of social networking protection, Samvel Martirosyan advised to always be alert and have a long password.
