YEREVAN. – Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan received the newly appointed Russian Ambassador to Armenia, Ivan Volinkin.

Congratulating the ambassador on his appointment, the minister expressed a hope that the diplomat will contribute to the development of environmental cooperation between Armenia and Russia, the Nature Protection Ministry press service informs.   

Upon Volinkin’s request, Harutyunyan spoke about the activities of his ministry, and the ongoing and long-term projects in this domain.    

The parties underscored the collaboration between both countries within international organizations and concerning environmental issues. They also stressed the effective interaction.   

In addition, Ambassador Ivan Volinkin gladly accepted Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan’s proposal to pay a joint visit to one of Armenia’s special protection areas.
