Newly elected Iranian president Hassan Rohani said his administration would expand ties with Armenia.

In response to a congratulatory message by Armenian President Serzh Sarksyan, Rohani said his administration would expand ties with Armenia in all fields based on understanding, trust and mutual respect, Press TV reported.

Hassan Rohani was elected president of the Islamic Republic of Iran during the elections on June 15.
