YEREVAN. – An Armenian delegation, led by Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan, formally met with Speaker Taher al-Masri of the House of Senate of Jordan.

The parties discussed the prospects for the development of Armenian-Jordanian relations, the Education and Science Ministry press service informs.

Also, Ashotyan briefed the Senate leader on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue and condemned Azerbaijan’s attempts to falsify history. Stressing that this issue has no religious motive or manifestation, the minister expressed regret that Azerbaijan distorts this issue and tries to give it religious tones.       

He highlighted that Armenia was surrounded by Islamic countries for centuries and, following the Armenian Genocide, thousands of Armenians found their second homeland in Arab countries.     

In addition, Armenia’s education and science minister laid emphasis on the fact that there are numerous examples when the same peoples have self determined and created separate states. Specifically, the Arabs have founded more than a dozen Arab states.
