YEREVAN. – If each Armenian writer that writes in foreign languages writes—ahead of 2015—one book or study about the Armenian Genocide, we will go one step further in the recognition and condemnation of the genocide.

Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan noted the abovementioned, on Monday in Armenia’s City of Tsaghkadzor, during her talk with the participants of the fifth conference of Armenian writers that write in foreign languages, the Diaspora Ministry press service informs. .   

Hakobyan underscored these writers’ role in the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide. 

Subsequently, the conference participants were on hand at the official opening of the fourth phase of the ministry’s 2013 “Come Home” Program for young Diaspora Armenians. 

Also, Hakobyan awarded the William Saroyan Medal to American-Armenian writer Peter Surian and Canadian-Armenian poet Keith Garebian, who turned 70 on Monday.    

In addition, the conference discussants got familiar with the Diaspora Ministry activities for Syrian Armenians.
