YEREVAN. – Any narcotic drug is dangerous for the organism, stated Armenia’s chief narcological specialist, Narcological Clinic Director Petros Semerchyan, during a press conference on Tuesday.

In his words, first and foremost, narcotic drugs do not spare the liver and the head.

Semerchyan stressed that a drug addict’s environment is of great importance because even if a drug addict undergoes rehabilitation, he returns to the same environment; and this very often causes a drug addict to be tempted by narcotic drugs.

Armenia’s chief narcological specialist informed that drug addicts from different social classes, including officials, undergo rehabilitation in Armenia. The rehabilitation is state-funded for Armeian citizens, whereas 140,000 drams (approx. $337) for the citizens of other countries.
