An Armenian was kidnapped in the outskirts of the Bekaa Valley town of Arsal, Lebanon, a source said, The Daily Star Lebanon reports.

The man, identified as Gregoire Noshiyan, is from Zahle but has been working in Arsal for almost thirty years where he fixes stone-cutting machines.

His truck was found near a valley far away from where he usually works.

The source speculated that the reason behind the abduction could be related to ransom.

The kidnappers probably assumed that the ransom would be quickly paid because Noshiyan’s expertise in repairing heavy machinery is much needed in Arsal.
