YEREVAN. – Several national and international laws are violated in the case into Hrachya Harutyunyan, 46, the Armenian citizen driver who was involved in the fatal bus crash outside Moscow.

International law expert, attorney Taron Simonyan noted the aforesaid during a press conference on Wednesday.

He stated that the degrading treatment of a person was apparent in taking Harutyunyan to court with a women’s robe.

“Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights and several other international documents are violated,” Simonyan said.

He also noted that the principle of proportionality should be discussed. That is, was it possible to bring the person to court with other clothing? And if it is proved that Harutyunyan was in a state of coma and he was woken up with the use of drugs and brought to the courtroom, this likewise is a violation of several provisions.

The attorney added that Harutyunyan may be transferred to Armenia and tried here. But if he is tried in Russia, he could be extradited to Armenia to serve his prison term.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, a truck crashed into a passenger bus on July 13 outside Moscow, and it was found out that the truck driver was an Armenian citizen by the name of Hrachya Harutyunyan.
