YEREVAN. – In 2012, Armenia imported 481 million cubic meters of natural gas from Iran, which is approved by the acts that are signed between the Armenian and the Iranian sides, informs the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry of Armenia.  

Overall, in 2012, Armenia imported about 2.45 billion cubic meters of gas, whose 1.99 billion cubic meters (81%) were imported from Russia and the remaining 19 percent, from Iran.  

Armenia imports natural gas from Iran along the lines of the “gas for electricity” resolution, thereby being committed to sending Iran 1 kw/h electricity for each 3 cubic meters of natural gas.
