A group of Georgian specialists traveled to Turkey to assess the ongoing restoration at the Armenian Ishkhan Church, which was Georgianized.

The press service of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia informed the aforesaid.

According to the press release, this is the Georgian specialists’ third such visit to Ishkhan Church and Oshkavank Monastery, which are located in Turkey.

To note, Armenian specialists have announced on numerous occasions that both Ishkhan and Oshkavank are Armenian architectural monuments. Moreover, they have Armenian names.

The Turkish authorities, however, try to represent both monuments as Georgian cultural heritage. In their turn, the Georgians visit them in an attempt to convince the Turkish authorities that these monuments are a part of the Georgian culture.
