YEREVAN. – Intensified daily reports on the purchase of arms and violation of the ceasefire spread by Azerbaijani media should be also viewed in the context of the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan, political analyst said.

“Procurement of arms was made in the past, too, and intensification of the signaling messages is an indicative of more active information war,” military expert Arkady Grigoryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Noting that Azerbaijan continues to purchase weapons, expert at the same time pointed out that regardless of whether Azerbaijan will get 10 or 100 pieces, it still remains a “recognized” foe whose actions are not a secret.

“This is very important. Whatever Baku undertook, it will be ‘recognizable’ for the Armenian side. However, this does not mean that the Armenian side can be calm and underestimate the opponent,” he added.
