This year Armenia, Georgia and Moldova may initial and next year sign the agreements on free trade with the EU, stated Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius.

“We may also expect the initialing of the agreement before the talks to be held in [the Lithuanian capital city] Vilnius [in November]. At that time we will work toward signing it as soon as possible. The best option would be to do this because the relevant EU commission is still working,” the Lithuanian minister told BNS, on Monday evening from Brussels.

To note, the powers of the current European Commission will expire in the latter half of 2014, BNS notes.
