Armenia’s Embassy in Madrid is clarifying whether any of the passengers of derailed train were citizens of Armenia or were of Armenian origin.

The list of victims has not been published yet, the embassy told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The embassy is following information,” they said.

At least 77 were killed and 143 were injured as a passenger train derailed not far from the northwestern Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela. There are 13 overturned carriages. According to some reports, speeding was a likely cause of the tragic accident.
