YEREVAN. – The Armenian MOD informs with deep regret that, according to preliminary data, conscript, Private Manuchar Manucharyan inflicted a fatal gunshot wound upon himself, on Wednesday at around 1:20pm.

Manucharyan was serving in an Armenian Armed Forces military unit, and he was at a checkpoint tower at the time of the incident. 

The MOD Investigation Service has opened a criminal case on charges of causing suicide, and an investigation is underway. 

According to the information which Armenian News-NEWS.am has received, the incident occurred at a military unit hat is stationed in capital city Yerevan.  

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, according to preliminary data, military serviceman Arman Muradyan (born in 1993) sustained a fatal gunshot wound in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). Muradyan had died on Tuesday, in a combat position of a protection area of an NKR Defense Army unit that is stationed in a north-easterly direction.
