TALLINN. – Garik Iknoyan, Armenia’s former Honorary Consul in Estonia, died on Tuesday in Tallinn, at the age of 71.

Iknoyan was living in the Estonian capital city Tallinn; he was the founder and long-time head of the Estonian-Armenian National Union.

He grew up in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, where he received secondary education. Subsequently, he was enrolled in Tallinn Polytechnic Institute, and he worked in Estonia in several executive positions.     

Garik Iknoyan greatly contributed to the consolidation of ties between Armenia and Estonia and the friendship between the two peoples.   

He had a great input in the strengthening of the Estonian-Armenian community, the Estonian Radio informs.
