YEREVAN. – Armenian Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan launched proceedings related to petition filed by the activists who continue sit-in across the Armenian capital city Yerevan Municipality building.

The statement issued by his office said that Ombudsman’s position will be made public as soon as possible.

Ombudsman’s advisor on social and economic issues Armen Grigoryan visited activists several times to give them consultation on legal affairs.

Earlier the activists petitioned to the Ombudsman’s office, asking for his mediation so that a tent is pitched, or a sunshade is placed, in front of the city hall building.

The youth that are continuing their sit-in, however, stressed that their demands have remained unchanged.

To note, the activists—who are on the eleventh day of their sit-in—have several demands, which include the dismissals of Municipality Transport Department Chief Henrik Navasardyan and Yerevan Trans Company Director Misak Hambardzumyan.
