Georgian government does not want conflicts in the future, official said during the commemoration ceremony of the 2008 conflict victims.

“We must neither initiate conflicts, nor yield to provocation,” parliament speaker David Usupashvili added.

The Minister for Reintegration Paata Zakareishvili released a statement saying that Georgian government guarantees security, integrity and development perspective to the population of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region (South Ossetia), if they agree to live together with the Georgian population, Novosti Gruziya reported.

“We want to appeal to residents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia and say that all problems can be solved together. The new government of Georgia has chosen a peaceful, constructive and pragmatic course on conflict resolution issues, and we are confident that this course will bring positive results,” the statement reads.
