The Museum of Geology of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) will open in Shushi city in 2014.

Academician Grigori Gabrilyants, Advisor to the NKR President, informed the above-said to Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

In addition, the scholar will donate samples from his own collection to the museum.   

Close ties with foreign colleagues have helped, too. The Vernadskii State Geological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences has promised to provide samples from its fund. 

“Minerals not found in the territory of NKR likewise will be displayed in the museum in Shushi. Owing to this, the museum will have a public education importance, including being useful for future geologists. Also, it will be helpful in the search for useful minerals,” the academician noted.
